ANRT was created in 1953 to facilitate and develop interlinkages between Science, Research and Industry. ANRT is a private non-profit organisation which brings together public research organisations and Industry. Its members carry out the major part of R&D in France. PREST is an institute of the Victoria University of Manchester, with over 20 full-time research staff. Founded in 1977, it is part of the University’s Faculty of Economic and Social Studies. PREST provides independent analysis and information for those developing and implementing policy for science and technology. It undertakes research and advisory work on various aspects of science and technology policy and strategy, and provides research training through postgraduate degrees and topic-oriented courses. It is a leading centre for evaluation of R&D programmes and S&T policy, with much experience in these fields. PREST’s main research areas are:
